These pictures were taken from the front porch at twilight--everything really did look that blue!
We had plenty of time hanging out in the cabin playing games, went one day to "Bongo Billy's" (the local coffee spot-a favorite of mine and JRR), and found some excellent sledding spots. When JRR edits some video, I'll post the sledding adventure. Here are a few highlights.
Though the baby of the family could not yet tackle sledding, he did an excellent job of opening his own Christmas presents!
Despite the difficulty of leaving such a beautiful place, we find ourselves glad to be ringing in 2008 at home. Our trip went very smoothly until a blow out on the way home Sunday night. We had hoped to arrive home in the wee hours of Monday, but had to stay overnight in Amarillo. Thanks to AAA membership, things went as smoothly as could be expected, and we arrived home the afternoon of New Year's Eve in time to hang out and celebrate with the kids.
Happy New Year!

We had so much fun didn't we? I wasn't ready to leave the mountains, but I am also glad to be home.
Love the twilight pictures, that was my favorite time of the day. The blue was amazing.
We've got some great kids and it was fun watching them play - in the snow AND in the wrapping paper!
